Name change!

Maybe it seems premature to already be changing the name of our blog, but after our group tossed around some ideas, we realized that Fusion might more accurately describe our group than the merely geographical description, Way out West.

You may have already noticed in our previous post or on the "About us" page that the ethnic diversity of our group is astounding.  In addition to four or five American-born members, our group has representation from Singapore (our host!), Peru, Brazil, and Serbia.  And that's just for the Bible study nights.  During other get-togethers, we've seen faces from Canada, Malaysia, and Germany, too!

And then if that's not enough diversity, we've got single people and married people, as well as ages spread between an empty nester and a five-month-old baby.

So, I guess Fusion is the best way to describe our collision of cultures, experiences, and life stages.  We celebrate our diversity, not merely for the sake of itself, but because in meeting so many different types of people, we learn so much about God's love for all people.  We can glean wisdom from those who have "been there" and "done that."  And then our comfort zones -- and our hearts -- grow just a little bit wider.

Oh My Gosh, are you calling me an "Empty Nester"?, haha....I suppose I don't think of myself as that, but living with the oldest and her family in my home may not constitute the "empty nest" syndrome. So, If you aren't talking about me, oops. I can't think of anyone else. But, Thanks anyway. I'll have to chew on that a while. Nevertheless, I've grown exponentially, since attending "fusion" studies. I'm not talking about the weight gain of eating all the yummy food. I'll see you guys and gals soon!

Uh, oh!  Now I'm really in for it.  Ha ha!  I couldn't think of anything else to call you, and I figured you're just _temporarily_ living with your daughter.  (Sigh.)  So many technicalities in this blogosphere.

p.s. Am I in the dog house for calling our blog "fusion" too?  I thought since "fusion" was your option B, I wouldn't get in too much trouble with you. :)

Cool, we have an official name now, and we are all geared up for the next "walk across the room" series in May. I am looking forward to our next learning adventure and many takeaway truths..
